What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a musical meditative experience where participants are guided on an inward journey, led by a variety of native and ancient instruments.  Participants are immersed and ‘bathed’, so to speak, by different sounds, vibrations, and frequencies that allow the physical body and subconscious mind to relax into a deeply restorative and meditative state.

What if I am new to sound baths?

No problem!  All of our events are very beginner friendly and there is no pre-requisite in attending any of our ceremonies.  All you need to do is bring yourself and anything that would help you relax.

What do I need to bring to a sound bath?

The very basics recommendations are: yoga mat or any cushioned mat, pillow, blanket, and water.  Most of our studios we host sound baths at often have these items for participants to use.  However, we advise everyone to bring their own as well as anything they need to create a comfortable space for our events.  The vibrations from sounds bath also help cleanse and charge up energetic auras, and if you would like to bring any item from home to be cleansed and charged up, please feel free!  These can include crystals, sacred jewelry, and memorabilia.

Who can come to a sound bath?

Anyone!  All of our events are family friendly and we encourage families to participate in these ceremonies together to create an intimate bonding experience.  Regardless of age, you are welcome to our sound events!  Children under 6 years are welcome as long as parents can ensure they remain quiet during the ceremony itself.

Do we have to lie down during the sound bath?

Absolutely not!  While it is the most common way people experience sound baths, they are not the only way.  We’ve had participants enjoy sound baths sitting up as well, whether against the wall or on a chair.  If you have a physical disability and need to bring something from home to be comfortable, please feel free to do so!  Some of our studios may have additional accommodations and you are welcome to reach out and ask if you may utilize them.

My hearing is sensitive and I am worried about how the sounds will affect me.  Am I still able to come?

Absolutely!  Sound baths in their nature have soft, soothing and vibrant sounds that promote internal balance and well-being.  We’ve had participants with sensitive hearing wear ear plugs even, as sound baths are not only an auditory experience, but a physical as well with the vibrations emitted from the instruments.  Participants with sensitive hearing may place themselves in a spot that has some distance from the instruments if need be.

Do we have to sign up before the event or can we pay at the door?

You can do either!  We do recommend pre-registration for any of our events so that the check in process is much quicker and you can begin to settle down for the sound bath earlier.  However, registration at the door is also an option.  Please ensure cash is brought if you plan to register at the door.  Some of our events do sell out early as well, so registration ahead of time is always best!
